We are seeking a Manager for Engineering & Instrumentation with at least 5 years of experience in the boiler or fired heater industry. This leadership role will oversee departmental performance, supervise small department personnel, and ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in evaluating project opportunities, conducting engineering/drawings, troubleshooting field issues, and driving efficiency across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the department's performance, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.
Supervise small department personnel, providing guidance and professional development.
Collaborate with the sales team to assess project opportunities and develop technical solutions.
Provide engineering support and conduct drawings for sold projects.
Troubleshoot field issues related to boiler and fired heater systems.
Apply knowledge of boiler room components, including burners, deaerators, water treatment systems, fuel train designs, feedwater systems, economizers, etc.
Ensure compliance with UL, NFPA, ASME, and other relevant design codes.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, from technicians to executives.
Train service and mechanical teams on best practices, troubleshooting, and component integration.
Interpret project specifications and design codes to develop comprehensive solutions.
Integrate boiler room components into cohesive, customer-specific packages.
Travel as needed to job sites to oversee installations, troubleshoot issues, and provide engineering support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience in the boiler or fired heater industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
Strong familiarity with design codes like UL, NFPA, and ASME.
Expertise in boiler room components and system integration.
Proven leadership skills, including team supervision and department performance management.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Willingness to travel as needed for project support and field troubleshooting
